By having an ideal client and being totally you, you eliminate the competition, because when they come to your website they’ll think “wow this is made for me, I have to book this photographer!”
Let’s make that happen for you!
Niche down who you target – don’t target everyone or you’ll attract no one. Knowing who you’re talking to helps with copywriting and image curation.
Who are they?
Your ideal client can be based on someone you loved working with, a mixture of your favourite past clients, or totally made up if you’re not attracting them at all yet.
If you use a past client, write down all the things that are memorable about them, such as their lifestyles, what things they support and what they’re like to chat to and hang out with.
Your ideal client can even be you (with more money)!
For my ideal client, I thought of my favourite past clients – the ones whose weddings I enjoyed the most, who treated me like a guest and who I’ve stayed in contact with because we genuinely get on, as these qualities are the foundation of my ideal client.
I wrote down all the things that were important to them, things they love and what they value, as well as their lifestyle and hobbies.
I then added a few specifics, such as Facebook Pages they like (yes I stalked them), and what they do on a weekend (stalked them big time).
Now you know how to talk to your ideal client – because they’re a real person with worries and desires like us! You can relate to them and help them make their decision about booking you, because you totally get them!
This post is taken from my epic course Bag the Bookings – the course is all about turning your website into an enquiry machine!
