You know you need a blog for SEO and to attract your ideal wedding clients, but you never know what to say! Here are my 5 top tips for writing the perfect wedding photography blog to attract your ideal clients
1. Tell a story
Rather than simply saying “the wedding was so fun,” tell them how it was fun – tell a story. “The wedding was so much fun – the bride wore Anne Boleyn underwear, which she flashed at her guests whenever she had a chance.” Make sure the story shows what you love about weddings.
2. Speak directly to your ideal client
Use language they feel comfortable with. If your ideal client is someone whose parents are paying for a huge expensive wedding, use language the parents will appreciate. If they’re swear-y and silly, throw in a few swears. The idea is to put off the wrong people as much as to attract the right ones. But most importantly be true to yourself!
3. Show what you want
Blog only wedding photos that will appeal to them. If you only want to shoot serious documentary style photos, then only show them – your ideal client will see that this is your speciality and book you. If you throw in just one portrait, someone looking for pure documentary will go elsewhere.
4. Let them know how it feels to work with you
When you blog a wedding, instead of saying “I turned up a bridal prep an hour before the ceremony” say “The second I walked in the door, the bride gave me a bear hug then handed me a glass of prosecco while telling me all the gossip from the hen do.” This tells the reader you love being treated like a guest and that you’ll fit in easily.
5. Blog about things that would appeal to them
If you want low-budget back garden weddings, blog tips for planning a wedding on the cheap. If you want a destination wedding in Italy, blog an interview with an Italy wedding planner with tips on planning a wedding abroad.
